Ports firing in different directions?

In your previous comment you made it sound negative.
Since there's so many car audio speakers made for in the vehicle....and a few that can be for home audio, I'd still prefer to buy subs/speakers made for in car and keep the HT to something like Dayton.

 
depending on your goals there are home threater subs/speakers that can the fit just as good if not better than alot of car audio stuff. On the spl side though home audio doesn't have to much of a place at all.

 
To get satisfactory results i think you're going to need new equipment. You can try to pinch every every watt out of what you got, but it sounds like you want noticeable improvement. Do some research on what you have and see what piece of the puzzle is lacking.

The black rca out is your mono sub output. That is the one you would use for signal to your sub amp.
