Porting through rear deck in trunk car

I have a 2008 Pontiac G6, if anyone has seen the backs of the seat they are a hard plastic and I believe they prevent alot of bass geting into the cabin of the vehicle. I was looking into porting through the rear deck lid where the 6x9 hole are with a chimney style port. Has anyone done this sort of thing. If so, how much of a difference did it make in spl. I hit 145.9 with 3k watts to Alpine type R's in the car but I want at leas 6-8 more DB. Any feed back would be nice from people who have seen or actually done it.

you wont get 6 db out of it for one, for two i have asked this question a few times to hear what these guys have to say. 95% of them all say that its worthless and will more then likely **** up the tuning you have(unless you are a great with dimensions). from what all of them said you will end up with a ****ed up tuning and are better off not doing it. on the other hand as i said i have asked this question a few times for different reasons, but in every case this was the most thought of outcome.

every 3 db..you double how loud you are..

so by porting through the rear deck..you hope to get almost 3 times louder...

doubt it..

not unless you upgrade electrical..amps ..subs box..you could go up higher..

i.e more cone space...

I realize I wont get any more than 3 DB out it, I am not stupid, I was just stating that I wanted more than what I was at. 145.9 to me is not impressive. I was saying that I wanted to be at 150 eventually. To be more specific with my plans, I was going to purchase another JBJ W12 Gti MKII which would give me three total subs at 1ohm. I was going to have a box built facing the subs toward the deck lid with the ports firing through them. The guy planning this said he could tune it to 35 hz using a box building software. I am hoping with these subs, instead of the type R's (2) I would get a significant DB increase.

i only said that cuz you said 6-8...wtf...anyway

no...

35hz..naw son..

tune higher...if you want to strictly hit good on the meter..

cars are louder with subs back, port back..passenger side...

i would do 2 strong subs..in a good box..maybe with aero ports..

or..

even better..

do a crx style box with ports going into cab...for real good on the meter..

with of course..decent wattage.

Also, I have read online that it essentially turns a trunk vehicle into a psuedo hatch back. If you saw the back of my seats you would see why I think I would get a huge difference. the back of my seats is hard plastic. I can't see how air would travel through them like a foam back seat. That is why I am hoping for a 3 DB gain from that alone plus I was hoping a 2 DB gain with the three GTi's. The doing the work for me said that one JBL Pro in a trunk car similar to mine hit a 146.7 with only 800 watts.
