porting the box or staying sealed???

i have 2 15L7's in a sealed 8cubic feet box. i have four 4'' wide 6'' long aeroports that i thought about using. what would yall do in my position??? i would like to just cut the holes in the sealed box and insert the ports in, would that be ok??

Your ports as they stand aren't suitable, to use all 4 (and you need to use all 4 to keep vent air speed down) they need to be 12'' long, that would tune the box to ~33hz.

You could try just 2 of your current ports, (that would also result in a 33hz tune) and see how it goes, just leave room to add the others if you get too much port noise.

go ported but use the proper port size or it will end up worthless and a waste of a box. good luck

Yes, BUT, at high volumes you will likley get port noise, it depends on how much power you have on tap.

why not get some tubing and use the flares with that instead of using you 4"wide 6"long ports

that sounds like a plan, but i'd juss rebuild and work them into the new box
