your a total idiot. techno is all digital. unless the sound processing sux your gonna get a very clean signal. stay off this forum loser
This is a false generalization.sealed if you want better sound qualityported if you want louder lows
Yes, and 'sound quality' is only about distortion, right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif How many SQ heads you suppose tune their system using 'techno'? Before you start throwing around the word stupid, make sure you aren't being dumb too.your a total idiot. techno is all digital. unless the sound processing sux your gonna get a very clean signal. stay off this forum loser
Techno is notoriously lousy for staging and imaging. Being that its mostly digitally created, there is no real sound stage, no real sound image. There's only the elementary cues and techniques where they might shift the music from side to side or whatever.actually i did not mean its bad music from a tech standpoint but a general musical standpoint, I mean if I have a cd full of cows farting; it may be recorded better then the latest top 40 artists' cd...but would you really want to pump it through your system????

dont most use ported to get more output near the enclosures tuning fq, causing the fq response to be less flat compared to most peoples sealed setupsThis is a false generalization.
A correctly designed ported box will sound just as good as a sealed box. Plus the Fs, Q Factors, and Vas dictate if a subwoofer should be in a ported or sealed enclosure...
It all depends on where you tune it and the driver in the enclosure. If you tune the box correctly you could actually have flatter response in the desired frequency range. Look at a lot of very high quality subwoofers and full range loudspeakers. The majority are going to be ported.dont most use ported to get more output near the enclosures tuning fq, causing the fq response to be less flat compared to most peoples sealed setups
and doesnt having a flat fq response have a lot to do with a systems sq
and it appears that fs and qes is what mainly dictates whether a driver likes sealed or ported
agreed.. carry on..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifIt all depends on where you tune it and the driver in the enclosure. There are the two MAJOR factors but the Vas and entire Q also affects performance...
Well.....Someone else correct me if I say anything incorrect here.. BUT..as far as I've been taught, this is how it goes..."Ported allows you to control the SQ in the specific range your music plays..."
what do you mean by that
You are right. That was confusing.Well.....Someone else correct me if I say anything incorrect here.. BUT..as far as I've been taught, this is how it goes...
If you tune a box to say 32Hz...When the woofer is playing a 32 hz note, the cone has the most stability at that point...And from what I've been told, generally anywhere within 10hz of that tuning, the cone is going to be in pretty much complete control UNTIL it hits X-MAX.
With a SEALED box...there isnt a specified Tuning...SO there is better control over the whole SUB frequency spectrum as far as the motor goes, BUT it doesnt have as strong as a peak as a ported box...hence why Ported boxes get louder.....( I know that was kinda confusing)
