Ported box for two 8's

I know all subs require larger or smaller boxes and most perfer alittle different tuning as well. But what would be a happy meduim box for a couple of 8's. My plan is to sell off part of my audio collection and do alittle testing with a few different sets of 8's. Any basic recommendations for box size and tuning?

need the sub model itself and the space you have in dimensions and what you are really going for goals wise. Otherwise it'll be like making an upgraded prefab rather than a true custom box.

Im looking at 8" CT Sounds, SA's, w7's for now. As for space, your standard trunk I suppose. I should have more then enough room. I figure the box will be 10-11" in height.

.5-1.0 per sub @ 32-40hz. Somewhere in the middle would work for most 8s but may not be optimum for all.

I ran 2 American Bass xd8's in 1.53@32.25hz (net), with 17sqin of port. Had them running off a PPI Phantom P1000.1 and was in the upper 30's in my liberty. You can't beat them for the money, and for comparison I lost almost a whole dB running 2 Diamond D3 10's on the same amount of power.

Why'd you get an EVO if ur gonna load it with dead weight?

Get a bazooka tube, something small and light.

Or sell the evo, guy a gts, and load the hell out of it with whatever since you'll have $20k in pocket.

Because racecar. I want a car I enjoy driving and listening to music in. I wanted something tunable and fast. Something unique. I'm making it my ideal car. I'll eventually switch to a birch box and some form of subwoofer. Right now I'll be rocking the 8s. Have everything ready to go to knock the hp up another 100 or so. It's what I want so it's what I do

I wouldnt even consider wood in a small snail powered car.

You'll feel the difference with a sub in the back.

I did.

100 is nice. Its noticeable. When you kick down 500+ to the wheels...new stories are written.
