well, building this box today for Mike516882 a user of the forums for his jeep with a fiberglass hardtop.

it'll be 35hz.. 33x18x14 inches outside.. yes, i know it's a bit small, but thats all the space he's got, and i think i can make it sound good, i have a XXX and a 1500 watt no-name amp.. pushing maybe 800 watts to test this enclosure, should be a fun couple of days.

it gives a 2.7^3 inside... not too bad for a 15 sx

he's going to run 1 JL audio 500x1 on each voicecoil, should be pretty loud

next post will have pics after i cut all the pieces to size, i just have one sheet right now : )

got all the wood cut, here's how it looks.. this is for the main enclosure, i'm going to dry fit it first with screws and create the slot'd ports that way... then desemble, and resemble once with the port material in place, then desemble, and final assemble with glue + caulk... lots of work, but usually makes a really clean box. for the end product.

thats the extra just in case.... i hope i dont need it alot of wood for a backporch workshop.

should finish the first step of the build today. and be gluing sometime tommarow, but look for a finished un-sealed product tonight.. i hope... unless nieghbors complain about the noise, **** em though, this is art.

edit: if someone could tell me how to make those **** pictures work, that'd be great.

thanks

okay new shit, got some more done, ports are taking shape!

hopefully these pics will work

that other cube of wood will be the second port.

other pics came out blury as a mother i guess today technology > me

edit: just saw those ****ing screw holes in the picture, **** they look sweet.

the guy wanted a sqaure port.. two of them actually

the port calculated out to 5 inches round 14 inches long.. as a round port for 35hz.

5 x 3.14 = 15.7^3

therefore 3"x5.25" =15.75^3 to make it a square port

and i kept it 14 inches long.. mathematically it's the same port.. except the mdf takes up more space than the pipe would have.. but i took that out of the volume of the box

and it's getting two ports for this box, one on either side.

correct me if i'm wrong moe, seriously, i want to fix it now if i can.

also have new pictures..

took like an hour to make this stupid thing, i think it turned out pretty good, nothing a little sanding wont fix

Picture115.jpg

i'm doing one port at a time.. the other side will be cut in the same place after i finish the entire first port.

edit: this link shows where the other port is.. pretty much mirrored inside the box.

and to get perfect holes.. or **** near you need a roto-zip by bosch or a router with a stick bit.. or something similar... a jigsaw can do it if you're real good with one.
