Popping issue with subs

I recently rebuilt my box and rewired my amp, I'm running two Incriminator Audio 187's and an old school Punch 200 that I brought down to 1 ohm. Initially running after hookup, everything seems fine and I've eased into the volume. But now at a higher volume, the subs pop a little on certain bass notes. I didn't do this during the first few runs but now all of a sudden it is.

Could this be a wiring issue, I'm going to bring the amp back down to 4 ohms and see if it continues. Or is the sub taking a crap on me?

They are probably just looser now and you are hitting mechanical limits quicker.

Maybe but they don't seem to be exerting that far to be popping, and it occasionally does it at medium volume also on certain notes. I am going to rewire it tonight and see where that gets me.

i know some of the older rf amps are only stable down to 2 ohms so that might be it. not sure about all of them though

Lol did you double baffle? If you didn't use enough screws your baffles will slap against each other like butt cheeks in a booty shaking video. It could also be tinsel slap, or a you could be playing below tuning and your subs are unloading.

I did not double baffle so I'm positive there's nothing slapping around back there. I'm guessing that amp doesn't like being a 1 ohm, I'll update if the problem persists after I rewire it down to 4 ohms.

check rcas. i had that about two weeks ago.i just took my sub box out to carpet it and whne i put it in i was getting pops and randoms frequencies while music was playing. so id hear the bass from music then some random frequencies playing. anyways, i just moved the rcas around a little and that fixed it. it tooka bout 30 seconds. they might be pinched or something somewhere.

^Thanks for the advice, just went out and looked and it looked like they may have been pinched a little. I'll test it out here soon, don't want to piss the neighbors off.

I just went and gave it a 5 second test and it seemed to be gone, unreal if that was it.

Just brought the amp back down to 4 ohms and the popping disappeared, apparently that amp doesn't like 1 ohm.

Yeah man they don't like 1. I do believe they're 2 ohm stable stereo and 4 ohm stable bridged

That's where it's at right now is 4 ohms bridged.

Yeah. Just sayin that may have been why you were having the problem. Trying to provide an explanation as to why it may have occured.
