I'm running a ipod on my system and it sounds like s***

192 of course sounds bad but I've tried burning music at 320 and it still sounds like a**

what I don't get is on my old system mp3's sounded fine

How is ur iPod hooked up? If you are using the headphone jack, it want sound as good as using the dock port. I can tell a huge difference between the two in my system. Is the EQ on the iPod set to 'flat'? Make sure you don't have any bass boost or anything on. How is it hooked up to ur HU?

I got the same problem with the alpine controller on the 9855........any ideas.

double check your eq settings/volume settings in itunes, make sure in the itunes prefs the box for sound check is NOT checked, and sound enhancer is not on, make sure the EQ on the ipod is set to flat.

if that doesnt work let me know

i use the peripheral ipod interface that allows me to control music from the pod with the volume fixed. sounds fine, although my ipod video makes a weird sound as soon as the backlight turns off. that is my only complaint. maybe its because it charges the pod too.

Some interfaces that charge the iPod in your car will generate some noise; Also, as above, make sure you're all eq'd to flat;

Reset the iPod, Restore it with new software;

And make sure you're downloading quality mp3s. Download one from iTunes and see if it sounds any better.

whenever you charge an ipod they make noise. plug one into the wall charger and listen through your headphones. on a side note, my ipod makes a weird noise when the backlight shuts off.

I've reset the ipod and noticed an improvement in the sound quality, I going to check and see if it is the same as old mp3 cd's that I current have in my collection...

every ipod i have had, and everyone i know of that i have used has done the same thing.

you get that weird sound like you do when you ahve electrical interference.

Would it be even better if the EQ on the Ipod was turned off, not that I'm having trouble, but just wondered if it would help?
