pioneer d1 speedsensor?

Is the speedsensor wire required to use the nav? I know on eclipse models it is, but i heard that it is not necessary for the pioneer bc of the gyro, but it wont be as accurate. My car doesnt have the speedsensor, and to add the adapter costs $150

you are correct, it is not needed but makes it a lot more accurate. you will also lose the vehical dynamics if you do not hook it up.
