Poll: Mag Sealed or Ported

Well just like the thread says, im trying to see what experience you guys have with either one of these options for an enclosure for the SI MAG 12''. I listen to all types of music; rock, r&b, hip hop, classic rock, rap, ambient, electronic, house etc. I origionally was going to go sealed for the optimal SQ, but i hear that the Mag's sound great ported as well.

It should aslo be mentioned that this is my first REAL install and i will be building the box myself. Keep in mind i am pretty proficient around the garage with tools and building shizz.

Hrmmm...what to do.

i love my mag ported, havent heard sealed, but no matter how fast a bassline i throw at it it never misses a beat

If I had the room I would have ported mine. Hearing Loyd's car is justification enough for porting a Mag.

I will be running off of a p1000.1 which does 1000wrms at 1ohm.

As far as ported enclosures go, SI reccomends 2 ft^3 tuned to 32 Hz. What are you guys running ported?

For a single 12, how does 2.5 cubes tuned to about 34hz sound?

I've run mine ported for a while now and just made a sealed box today because the ported was too much for me with only 780w. However, it's a 15".
