correct me if I am wrong, but the flat tax does so off of income, and after the income is made, therefore it only taxes those who report! correct? and it is done quarterly, semi anually or anually. So the Drug dealers, bartenders, carpenters and illegals that get paid cash typically won't put into the system.
With consumption, the tax is collected at the point of sale, and can be deposited to the government at the same time. There is no paperwork to do. The drugdealer that buys a $120,000.00 AMG G500 will pay his share also.

Did I clarify that or make it worse?
The flat tax is collected at the point of sale as well. You recieve your entire paycheck instead of having the federal income etc taken out. When you purchase a good, the 10% is charged to that purchase from what I understand. It's basically a sales tax, but consistantly at 10%

No, a flat tax is where everyone pays a certain % of their income. You and kent are arguing for the same thing.

i am not bothering with this shyt anymore, i can ensure you being in the industry i know more about this stuff than 98% of the folks on this site.

just plain and simple beacuse i dont feel like wirting a novel, its stupid.

Yes,
You and kent are advocating what is often refered to as the "Fair Tax". And he is right, it is close to 30% than 10%.

Which would make the tax here in TN closer to 40%.
Alright, thanks for clearing that up. I may have missed it, but what do you propose filp?

Flip, Where I come from (Cayman) everything is imported, and there is "duty" charged at customs for every item that comes into the Island. that duty is part of the net cost of the item when a retailer sells is or a contractor uses it. there is no income tax, there is not inheritance tax, or capital gains tax. (There are obvioulsy other ways the gov. creates revenue) My point is that their system works very well there, there is no unemployment, if you want to live you have to work. The government isn't going to pay your rent or buy your food. there is none of that! therefore the net amount the government needs to service society is less respectively.

Yes, but we don't tax that way on consumption.
