Pls Help a Newbie Pick

I have 6.5 Comps narrowed down to 4. Could I please get some feedback on these with some pros and cons.

1) Focal 165 V1 or V2

2) Diamond Audio D661s

3) Crystal Mobile SSCS6

4) Infinity Perfect 6.1

Drop the infinity's. Their new shit isnt that great. I would personally drop the Crystals as well. The Diamond D6's sound very nice. No experience with the focals but I have read good reviews on them. Hope this helps a little.

I was leaning towards the Diamonds or the Focals. This helps!!!

I've only heard the diamonds and the infinities, and from what ive heard, I would really pass on both. There's a guy on here (excelerator or something like that) who I believe had the d6's and then got the crystals and said the crystals were much nicer, and also at a lower price.

You could also look into the Rainbow SLC's, they should be in the same price range as the rest of these.

Drop all these speakers and get a set of Rainbow SLC, Look for 6spdcoupe on this forum. he can help you .

my diamond d661s came today!

i will have them installed in the next couple days, and will post how i like them..

i got them from 'the12vkings' on ebay for 175 delivered..

then shipped and sent me a tracking # the same i day i ordered..

they look awesome, my only initial impression is the crossovers although very high tech looking, are on the large side.

oh and PS - i think xcelerator had the hex's which are actually more expensive then the D6's but i have heard they are not as impressive as these d661s..

are those the $800 dollar focals? i have heard them a few times, and they sound great, but i would never spend that much on a component set.

i think the focal 165 v2 is around 200 on ebay..

i agree i wouldnt pay 800 for comps either, but i am sure if they cost that much they are great.. if you got money to blow, who knows

I think I'll go with the Focal 165 V2's for now.

It's amazing the mark up on these at the local stereo shops around here. Most places locally want well over $400. I guess I'll be bidding on ebay....lol.

then be weary of what you are actually buying. fleabay has been known to have ALOT of fake focal products. Usually when things are priced too good to be true, they usually are.

About $200 sounds right for the focals on the internet. I got the Focal 165V1's for $200 on realmofexcursion.com
