I'd like to upgrade my car's speakers at the same time as I get a new Ipod-friendly head unit.

I'd like a pair of 6.5" for the doors and 6X9" for the rear deck. I'll only be using the head unit's amplifier to power them, probably an Alpine 9857. And I like a really neutral sounding speaker. In home speakers I've liked B&W, PSB and Paradigm. I'd like to stay around $100-200 per pair, street price.

Suggestions of speakers that I might check out?

Take this suggestion.drop the rear fill,get a nice set of 6.5 components in front http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3341 http://www.millionbuy.com/sospic2600.html this is a great combo.This will make you alot happier.Those cdt`s ive heard except they were te carbon fiber versions and they sound superb on only 85 watts a side with overated hifonics power.The fiberglass set ive heard has a smoother midbass that the carbon fiber versions so you will like this,if you go with it.

yeah, I hear you about the separates, but I just want to stick with something simple that will fit into the factory cutouts with no grills, etc showing.

take a look at Rockford Fosgate T162Cs also, after listening to quite a few in blind listening tests, I went with them
