Please help me, First Amp Install

Everyone has to start somewhere right? I think that just a simple one amp install would be a perfect place. It really doesn't get much easier than that. Just make sure to take your time. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Thanks guys! I'm goin with the 4 gauge wire and I might try to do the big 3 as well. I'm planning on working on this tomorrow if the weathers nice.

I have a question, Even though I only have 4 rca channels in my headunit, and I'm using them to power my normal speakers, is it possible to add subs to my system later on?

Just hooked up my new speakers in the back, tested them, work great (on headunit power that is)

Before I put the rear deck seat assembly back on, I have a question..

Because I have RCA cables...does that mean I don't have to run wire to the speakers themselves?

no bro the rca's send the signal from the head unit to the amp. the amp then sends through the terminals in the form of watt's to each speaker through speaker wire. put it this way look at the speaker. can you hook a rca to it? didnt think so

Right now the speakers are connected to the wire in the car, do I disconnect that and connect it to the amp instead of the car? Or do I connect it to both the car and the amp?
ok bro here here ima do a quick picture for you of what and how to hook it all up k. h.o. a sec.

ok bro check this out. i drew up a little sketch. Shows you what you need to do.

you will c i was lazy and only put one speaker. just wire the remaining three speakers the same way. positive to positive negative to negative.

So far I have the fuse holder set up, power wire going from the battery to the trunk, along with the remote turn on wire, RCA cables going from the trunk to the headunit (running on opposite side of power wire), and a speaker wire going from the trunk to the front left door (not in the door yet)

I bought this kit:

http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KFX-AK44

And they only gave me 20 ft of speaker wire. I almost used all of it running from the trunk to the front left door, going on the opposite side of the power wire.

Is there an easy way to get the wire into the door where the speaker is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

Thats what I'm working on right now.

am i doing everything right so far?

Is this setup correct?

Looks good so far. Some people would run the speaker wires up the middle of the car to reduce the amount of wire you would have to run. They are usually the smallest wires to, so they are easy to hide under the carpet.

This is the speaker hole, with the stock speaker wire there

This is the speaker

Speaker + new speaker wire ??

Do I take the harness off (that connects the speaker to the stock speaker wires), and cut off the jacket to the new speaker wire and connect it to the speaker?

, then the speakers wont be able to connect to the stock speaker wire, but thats correct right?

I need about 20 more feet of speaker wire and... http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KAR12SS is out of the wire I've already half-installed in my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
Is it bad to use two different types of speaker wire in an installation?
As long as it is similar wire, it should be fine. Not the right way, but it will get the job done.

I know the ground wire goes from a bolt on the chassis to the hole in the amp marked 'gnd'. However, how does the wire go into the amp? Theres a bolt inside the amp that tightens with an allen wrench, do I just put the raw wire inside there, or do I need some type of a connection at the end of it?

I used the ring connection for the ground wire to the chassis, do I use this for the ground wire to the amp?
