Connect Component Speakers to amp with stock headunit

Hey everyone, I currently installed my new component speakers to my car by just attaching the input of the crossovers to my old wiring that went to the woofer. If I was to connect this to my amp as well is this possible since I have a stock headunit? Would I just connect the wiring from the old woofer directly to the amp and then new wires from the amp to the external crossover? The amp im using is the rockford fosgate 400a and my component speakers are pioneer ts-c1653 thanks in advance.
