Playing seal subs w/open trunk

Yes, yes...This is very true.

The sub relies on the trapped pressure from the bass waves to keep the cone "in check". If you open the seat and play them they will no longer be "in check" and they will move like they are in free-air, similar to a ported sub 30hz below the tunning frequency.

Bumping subs with seat down/trunk open = totaled subwoofer.

You don't want a totaled subwoofer man, that sux.

Also, I did that at full power. The sub moved so much that the dust cap flew off like a frisbee. It hit me in the back of my head (bcuz the seat was down) and parted my fro in the back. That pissed me off.

If you don't want a parted fro and/or a totaled subwoofer, keep the trunk CLOSED & the back seat UP.

holy sh*t thats hilarious.^^ but seriously, he is NOT joking. If you don't want a totaled sub or parted frow plz heed his advice.

I truely hope you are not serious, you are going to make this kid paranoid. In a sealed box, the air INSIDE the box acts as a suspension. Just to make things clear - the is NOTHING wrong with playing them with the trunk/seats open/down.

What do you mean you hope I'm not serious?

All things stated were scientific FACTS (fingers crossed).

Dernit, all this sudden straightforwardness is making me look the bad guy.

You could have played along a little bit longer.

Damm you Wonderbread,lol. J/k

Way to ruin our fun, I think we had him going

Wait I thought it was bad for them when your trunk was closed? Arent you only supposed to play them when your trunk is open? You mean you listen to your subs inside of your car?

You got to remember to torque down the screws that hold it to the box. They make loosen up and flop out, possibly cause an accident by a propelled subwoofer.
