Planned build, opinions, critiques?

I am about to be home after being overseas for quite some time, just in time for summer. This is the build I currently have planned, and the gear I have purchased so far. I just want to get opinions and critiques for the build. Keep in mind this build im not trying to set any records or be the loudest there is, I just want something nice, that sounds good. All of this is going into a 07 Monte Carlo SS so you can get ideas of the trunk space I am working with.

Amp - AQ1200D

Subs - The plan is for (2) 12 IN Alpine Type R's, I have not purchased them yet, because I know I can find them on craigslist for cheaper, and im also willing to take last minute suggestions, but im not trying to spend a lot of cash 2-300 bones total for subs. I also do not have a box yet, because I want something custom to fit the trunk, nothing fancy, I just want it to look clean when its all said and done.

there are better subs out there than the type r's for your price range... you could probably pick up a pair of SA-12's for around that price, or maybe a lil bit more used... and they would match up perfectly to that aq1200 ...

or a pair of DC level 3's ... or a pair of AQ sdc2.5 12's ... just a suggestion

^ yeah, why not just go full AQ? You can get two of the above for less than $300

Plan on wire decreasers because I don't think the AQ has 0 gauge inputs.

yea.. i think the 1200 has 4ga inputs... but you can run 1/0 back to a distro block, and run the 4 to the 1200, and 4 or 8 to whateva amp you use for your components

Thanks, that piece of advice about the wire terminals probably just saved a poor helpless tool getting thrown at something.
