Focal 165 CA1.

and

Pioneer Premier TS-D601P REV Series.

So which of these Co-axails would be better? Would be powered with a PG Xenon X100.2.

I've heard a lot of good things about both, and I have never heard either one in person.

Don't just tell me which, tell me why you would pick that one.

I'm going to say pioneer. I have their $15/each speakers and **** are they crisp. I don't even wanna know

Focals without a doubt. Ive heard both on a sound board and the pioneers distort long before the focals. I will admitt at lower volumes the Pioneers might have a touch more mid-bass but if your looking for clarity i think the focals are your match.

Since you have subs in your sig i would recommend the focals since you dont need the bass from the coaxials and your looking for clear highs.

The pioneer TS's are alright, but i like the focals for the exact reasons italynstylion likes them.. They can rock and rock hard!

Still pretty dang close. I don't know yet. Focal 10, Pionner 7.

I will most likley go with the Focal for what has been said above. I'm still looking for more reasons on each.

I was wondering the same thing about a month ago and when I heard them both I decided to go with the Focals, then I decided to go with the 165V1's instead because I found a good deal. Pioneers came out with some new comps that could be a close match though but of course they cost about $350.00 or so.

i heard the focals in camrytuners car.... those tweets are too harsh for my blood, although the mid is sweeet sweet.

I hadnt even looked into the Polyglass series before. I actually like the looks of the Focal 165CV1. They also offer a little higher power handling im looking for.

However, flakkos response has me a tad bit hesitant. I am not that big of a treble fan, but I do want nice crisp sound and I don't want it to be harsh.

What do you think of the Polygalss series 165CV1?

There is a switch in the crossover that allows you to lower the treble by -3db if its too much. They do that b/c if you have the tweets in the kick pannels you may want it louder since the distance from your ears is greater...

shoot... the tweets are still prety harsh evena fter -3 db, currently im using the passives /w rainbow cal 25 tweets..... sounds sweet =]
