I am currently in the market for upgrading my shitty factory speaker (05 Jeep Grand Cherokee)

I like the component sets but however most of them are out of my price range(store bought, not online, only 17.... not getting into installing by myself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif)

Would these pioneer low end components do the trick?

or would i be better off with rev series coaxial or maybe the new type R's or Type S's (Coax) by Alpine

As for a Head Unit i will most likely getting the alpine CDA-9552 or something in that class.

Thanks

p.s I will eventually in a month or so(when i get the money) an Amp and Sub

I've had them. They're definitely not worth the money. They're usually around $100 or so new, and at that price, there's a tonne of better options out there. There's just no clarity and definition to them, they sound really muddied. I was just reading on another threat that for that price, CA forum member LBC99 just got a free upgrade to CDT Audio's CL-61A from woofersetc.com. I've had two pairs of those myself, and at $150, they're a very good buy; at $108, they're unbeatable. I'm on my third pair of CDTs and I've always been amazed.

ok this may sound crazy. But I have used the entry level pioneer coaxials.. and they sound very nice off HU power. The Pioneer comp sets seem to lack. But they go well with their coaxials. If you were planning on not amping your highs then I would go with the cheap Pioneer entry level ones (the grey cones).. yes they do sound nice. If you do plan on amping the highs then the Pioneer Revs or the new style Alpine Type R's would be a nice choice. Just remember this.. the speakers are only as good as your install. Take the time to install them right and you will be happy with just about any speaker out there.

Remember this guy cant order anything online and has to get his stuff locally so telling him to get CDT from woofefetc.com isnt going to help him any.

If you are going to go Pioneer components I would definitely go with the REV components.

These sound alot smoother than the Type R comps and have pretty decent midbass. It all depends on your budget though.
