Pioneer Subs any good?

Pioneer subs are the only ones ive ever blown Ive run several different mtx subs of similar power handling and never had a problem with those. Ive also got a set of alpine type e's in a 78 camaro and have rn them hard with no problems at all. And i have used the boston that replaced the pioneers twice as hard and it has never given me any problems.
That still doesn't mean they didn't blow due to an error on your part. There are too many variables to be able to simply say "These are the only subs that have ever blown on me, therefore they ****."

But the original poster isn't even concerned with the subs you are talking about, so there is no sense bringing them into the discussion. The build quality of 3000SPLs is much better than their low-end subs.

Allright i was just saying the pioneers didnt hold up for me and I didnt say they ****.

BOUGHT EM! there running along in a UPS truck right now. Now i need to build a box which my friend told me was pretty simple. I have to ask though what thickness of plywood to use, im guessing ported box? and single or double chamber box for the 2 of em? These subs are suggested .5 ~ 1 cu.ft. a piece where should i go in between there. Thanks

**** I hate when noobs read one post about a brand and think they know every line to the fullest extent. Those 3000s are great "bang for the buck" subwoofers. I had a pair off 1600 watts and they sounded perfect for the price. In fact I sold them to my friend and theyre still kicking strong after about 13 months of consecutive use.

They are just kick *** subs. I liked the sound of mine never having pushed them hard. For a month I was riding with just one on an Autotek SS750.1. Sound was good to me and I had a shitty prefab box too. Yeah they are not the forum boner subs of the year, but they won't let you down.

I am curently running 2 of them on an alphasonik 1000hca at 1 ohm 3000 rms 1500 to each sub in a junk prefab box and they sound real good clean and crisp ported box of course I am going to go with a 3000d sundown shortly I hope they hold up.....

HELP!! I purchased the D4 which is 4 ohm and then i checked Pioneers website and they say that this sub, the D4, is able to be wired for 2 or 8 ohms and the 2 ohm version the D2 can be 1 or 4 ohm. is this because of the Dual 4-layer voice coil or dual 4-ohm?????? i was planing on running this at one ohm but havent bought the amp yet.

Did you just get 1 sub? If so, you will want to send it back and get a D2 sub to be able to run your amp down to 1 ohm.

If you bought two subs at D4, then you are ok.

Well i have two older impp Pioneer Premier subs and they sound pretty good, in fact i have had them for 7 years now and dont intend on giving them up since they seem to be very durable and sound good. Im not sure about their new stuff though
