Ok guys, what is the best sub i can get in my car for the best price? ....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif J/K I'm looking into buying either the Kenwood KFC-W3012 or the Pioneer TS-W308D2|D4. Both are 400 RMS. Anyway, my question is what does the D2/D4 mean on the pioneer speaker? Their website says that they can be either D2: (1 or 4 ohm) D4: (2 or 8 ohm). Sooo, what is the difference? It says its design 2 and design 4 but is that the same speaker? It show no difference if number if it is. Heres the link to the sub http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Subwoofers/Champion/TS-W308D2%7CD4?tab=A

Any clarification will be much appreciated. And any thoughts on the two subs in comparison would be nice too. thanks in advance.

Ahhhh, so it is two different subs. Ok, i guess i figured 1 would cost different but i guess not. So i'll probably get the 4 ohm. Next on my list is a solid amp to run it. Thanks for the help

These pioneers have 2 voice coil options:

Dual 2 ohm subs (D2) give either 1 ohm (parallel) or 4 ohm (series) final impedance.

Dual 4 ohm subs (D4) give either 2 ohm (parallel) or 8 ohm (series) final impedance.

If you have more than 1 sub, the options increase. How many subs are you going to run?

Generally, you should pick the configuration that allows your amp to produce the most power. What is your amp?
