is it just me or do none of pioneers hu's have a usb input? they make it so you have to buy theyre stupid box just to be able to hook up to a standard usb cable? that is a rip off!

ummm, you should go to their website, they have a few different models that have them , like the Deh-P5100ub, 4100ub, and several others i do believe, and most of them support flash drives and HDD

usually the models with ub in the model have usb. i have the deh-p 5000ub and it has usb.

all ub decks have usb and real true 250 gig hdd support as well. and yes the ub means usb bt means bluetooth some have both.

What? On the 2009 models the 3000 models and up all have USB.

really? well thanks for informing me. but for example, i saw a $500 hu, (just cd's) and didnt even have usb. i thought that was rediculous.

thats because most people that spend $500 on a headunit arent going to waste their time with a crappy sound quality that you get from most USB connections.

Crutchfield is selling the Pioneer USB adapter for $29.99...hard to pass up at that price point.

I'm guessing the $500 unit was the DEH-P800PRS? That's a pure SQ deck.

And anything above the 3100UB has USB. If it's a BT level unit, it has USB as well. The 6100 and up have 2 USB connections.

P980BT does not have built in USB, you have to add the adapter box.
