hi guys i am from india and what a faboulous forum u have got here.i want to install a new hu in my car .i want to know which hu to go for between the two pioneer 8650mp or the new 8850mp with color screen .please tell me which of the two has better sound quality and is more reliable.

In the states I think the 8650 is the 8600 and the 8850 is the 880. If you dual left and right eq's then go with the 8850. evrything else is almost the same. but if it was up to me i would go with the 8850.

the 8850 in states is p780mp.i have heard both thr 860mp and 780mp to me the 860mp sounds better on the same setup . iguess i will be going for 860mp.

Yes, the 860 is a better deck than the 780. The 860 has network mode while the 780 does not. Not that it is much of a difference but the 860 has slightly higher preout voltage. On the other hand the the 780 has a bigger EQ but I can't see that making much of a difference either. And the 780 has a MORE colorful screen. Overall, the 860 is a little better with more features.

the 20khz eq on the 780 does`nt make any difference as far as i can tell.also i checked both the hu`s without an amp so the preout voltage does`nt make any diff. still the 860 sounds better .
