I believe they are exactly the same as far as the specs are concerened. Like they said above, only diff is the 2 year vs 1 yr warranty and one says premier the other says pioneer. If the difference in price is more than 50 bucks i wouldnt get the premier since there wont be any difference in performance. I dont think 50 bucks is worth the extra year warranty but hey thats me.[/quote
Best buy has those extended warranty policies that you can purchase. I was wondering whether it's worth it to spend the extra $$ for the extended warranty. I had a previous Pioneer that lasted 4-5 years before I replaced it but with all these new, electronically complex HU's, is it important to have warranty in the second year? How often does a pioneer HU have problems within the first two years?

I bought my old Pioneer Premier DEH-P8MP new at a dealer, the deck worked perfectly for 2 years, like after exactly 2 years of owning it, the volume knob popped off, called the shop (they're an hour away) and they told me to send it in. About 1.5-2 months later I get basically a brand new deck which I then sold for $230 USD so that 2 year warranty ended up paying off.
