Pioneer 880PRS and Auto EQ

My system tells me error front speakers. I wonder if my gains are too low? I'm not being too aggressive in my gains so the system is not painfully loud at full volume. My amps are buried in the back so it's not that easy to play with the gains.

How loud does it get when it's doing the test? I can easily sit in my car while it's doing the front test. At it's loudest it's loud, but not painfully loud. Are you able to sit through your test?

Plus, another 'annoyance' with the 880PRS. It has two custom curves and you can set them, but when looping through the curves, it always shows you the same graphic. It would be nice if it actually showed the curve I programmed into it.

thanks!

Yes. I'm using normal mode. All four corners work. Front and Rear are going into an Alpine MRP-F250 4CH and the subs are going into an MTX TC3001.

I can see and hear it testing the front left first and then the front right. Then it comes back with front error.

BTW, after a successful auto-eq, is there a way to see what curve it produced?

You may want to call pioneer like stated before on this one, unless someone here knows exactly what the issue is. When i custom set the eq the graphic does change to what i set it to.

The only way i get an error like u stated from the Auto TA and EQ was when i disconnected one of the speakers and ran it.

I think he means when you are at the main screen...nothing showing but the song that is playing...when you push the EQ button it goes through all the EQ presets, the two Custom EQ settings both have the same picture, and do not change when you actually change the EQ settings, thats what he's wanting.

Also, in the manual it says not to sit in your car during the test because your body changes the acoustical characteristics of the vehicle, so try doing it standing outside like the manual says to.

exactly... which is why you should be in the car.
lol.

unless you want to tune for perfect response without a person in the driver's seat (see how that would be kinda pointless?)

You are NOT supposed to be in the car when Auto Eq is running. That is why you put the microphone where your head would be. If you sit in the car you'll block the mic.

you can be in the car but you have to stick the mic on your forehead.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I've heard bad stuff from people about AutoEQ, but in my experience it really improved my audio drastically. I also kinda like the 880's BMX and BBE. I really, really like this HU. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Uhh, or not.

The manual must be wrong though, right? Or the countless hours the engineers spent designing this feature, yea they're all wrong too....sure.
