yup 3 way is for front stage only it would screw you on the rear fill. If you need rear fill, i'd recommend going active on your amp.
why would you even need to touch it in the first place?im just trying to figure out what best for me. if i was to get the 80prs i have no problem doing that wire think as it would make it easier to replace. the only problem is i would void my warranty .
I use audacity generate several tones and save it on a usb. tones like 3500hz 3600hz all the way to 8k hz. I pick what I want to set it as, play the note then turn the crossover on the amps until it cuts off then go back until its playing at a good volume again. Should land you in the proper ballpark of your chosen crossover point give or take 50 hz.wow im glade i asked. was not thinking about my rear speakers.
how do you set you crossovers on your amps?
i know you said you use test tones. do you play a tone then tune until you dont hear it ?
if it blows...why would you even need to touch it in the first place?
I added more stuff to my previous post.is there a way i can only play say from ( 65hz to 150hz ) ? im asking this for my 8" that i want to get. as that were i would like them to play.i know you can set high side or low side on an amp.
just trying to figure how would i set my amps up for 3way. to get the sound i want from each type of speakers.

lol the 80 prs as high pass options of 50, 63, 80, 100, 125, 160, 200. I'd say you'd want the whole shebang eventually lol. A good head unit with active capable amps.what h/u ? i dont have that setting on mine?i have 80 - 120- 160 for both high and low.
are you saying now i need one of them radios ?
I added more stuff to my previous post.
You'll need active capable amps, and split the front signal with Y splitters. For midbass, set the crossover to lowpass and play a 160hz test tone and set it accordingly. high pass filter will be set to 63 hz on the head unit.
some amps have a x10 thats for higher frequencies and midrange. Low pass means it wont play higher then its stated frequencies and high pass means it wont play lower then that.
Its easier if you have a seperate 2 channel amp for the midbasses or tweeters. Actually its not possible without one lol. You'll need either three 2 channel amps or one 4 channel with one 2 channel amp.
ok you say the 80prs right ? is the alpine 9887 as good ?lol the 80 prs as high pass options of 50, 63, 80, 100, 125, 160, 200. I'd say you'd want the whole shebang eventually lol. A good head unit with active capable amps.
Damn it car audio!! Big arse money sink.
I can only speak for the 80 prs, never used the alpine 9887. I know the 80 prs has a lot more tuning options and is a bit more modern then the 9887. SQ wise its a random tossup, i know that 9887 is a very well respected SQ head unit with great internal processors.ok you say the 80prs right ? is the alpine 9887 as good ?i ask because i can get the 9887 one for a good price.
but if you think i would like the 80 better let me know.
i like adjusting...
