going to try to get hu installed this week.. dude I was looking at the manual and holy crap it's got like 500 settings lol.. i'll get the car type and hp xover set the 1st day anyway rest may take 2 months..
should only take 10-20 minutes to set everything.... Its not that hard.
installing it on Thursday.. just can't believe all it come with for the $.. y I got u kid that bought my old equipment (on other thread) has a cab amp coming just got email it's been shipped wanted 4 12's I talked him in 2 15's to stick with 1 amp until he decides what he really wants so he wants to test subs before he makes giant box going to get 1 15" SA shouldn't he just run it at 2 ohm 1200rms?, so that way he can get 2nd one later or would sa take 1600 and sound so good he won't need a 2nd sub? remember this is in a dual cab truck.. ps do I set all xovers at 24db?
HOLY H*LL with the kenwood installed sound like I got new speakers (which I did but couldn't really tell) removed passive xover from rears and I'm going to cover the bottoms of them to make it like a box.. I set the xover slopes to 18db does it matter or just like if I set fronts to say 80hz and don't want any lower to get to it set at 24db or if I set rears at 100 and don't care if it lets some pass to 80hz set to 12-18db? also I set tweeter to 10k should I go to 8k? haven't even seen seating position on it yet just selected large car,6.5 and 6x9 &xovers which is really all I wanted but man that 5v preout really made a difference on amp I even turned gain down before I left cause I knew more volts would require to lower it but wow sounds like it added 200 rms lol..
yeah see why I said never to cheap out on a head unit? You can get way better sound after proper tuning, test out the sound realizer, stage expander, and stage height. Then tune the EQ.
LOL I have 10yr old cd's., it's been 5 yrs since I used my mp3 player which has maybe 20 songs on it I can't get it to work., it'll be a month before I get any songs on usb cause I gotta figure out how to do it lol.. but may the sq level when from 3 to 7.5 (10 to me) I found the seating position time delay etc so i'll get it soon..
time delay should already be set for you when you choose your vehicle and speakers.
