Who said you can't be loud and compete in SQ? If you ever see Dave Brooks ( the silver harley f250 ) at a show. Ask for the "hot for teacher demo". It's kind of overwhelming when you have a horn or super tweeter screaming at your face louder than the subs.

You don't realize how loud it is, cause you don't hear the distortion, and then you try to talk the the person next to you. And realize you can't hear a thing. It's enveloping. I love it.

It also doesn't help that most the music I listen to in the car isn't recorded well @ all)i.e. mostly bass heavy southern rap from the past 2-3 years). I save the music I actually listen to for my ipod(mostly rnb and older rap thats actually intelligent etc) for when I go to class or just sitting around doing HW.

Yeah. Recording will make or break a experience in SQ.
