Do you have down syndrome... they are not identical

Maybe not identical but they are similar.To someone who doesn't really know that much about the SQ side may intupret it as 2 decks.But if you look very close you can see the graphic EQ on the display.

Whats the deal with the stacked head units?

thats alpine's controller for the701 processor

most of these guys are probably on a 3 way active front system and the processor controls things like the Cross over point, the EQ, time alignment

think of it as the big brain behind the system.

I like the processing to be heard, not seen I guess. Or at least have a more congruous look to the two pieces a'la P9 Premier and F1 style
