what decible test tone are u using. some time ago i set my amp with a 0dB tone and when playin much the performace was brutal. get a -6dB test tone. keep the freq where it is, and readjust the gain with the multi meter to about 45 ACV . if the amp is puttin out the volts u need. its not the amp. and its not the sub. its just need to be tuned.

The reduced tones would make it louder.

 
everythin on my H/U is on 0 and my amp is adj right and i was playing a 50hz tone i think i am going to send the amp and sub back lots to ship but in the end prob with it.. What do you guys think?

well if hes using a 0dB test tone. and the majority of CD/burnt CD are -6dB of course it will be louder with mucic recorded at 0dB. also send your sub and amp back isnt the solution gettin the gain set right is

 
haha i do not want to tell you how much the box was you will laugh but anyways sending it back will solve it because i do know how to get my gain correct now so it is clear to me! I know understand what and how to set everything.....
