I just happened to be in vegas right now for that show, so my buddies over at FIcaraudio.com reconed it for you. I also got a tutorial of how to recone a sub by a long time sub builder. it was a good trip to meet FI.

I have a brand new looking MT on the way to you....don't forget the build log...can't wait to see results

Unfortunately while you were out getting the other MT reconed for me something really bad happened last night............. The current MT 18 that I've been using in the 7cuft box over this past month just took a crap one me, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/pissed.gif.9f665f96bc89e98e708dabd4580bb591.gif I havn't pulled it out yet, but I know it's bad because it's not reading 2ohm's with the DMM. So now I'm back to only (1) working sub again, once I pick it up from you this weekend.

The original person I bought them from was right when he said that "these (2) 18's will probably need to be reconed, because they were being burped with 10k watts" I just spoke with him the other day and the recones are for sure going to be shipped and will arrive here next week.

Mark, when the recone comes in we should meet up and recone the newly blown MT so I can get this project completed and make some vid's and attend some shows.

Yep it sux Skip01, I was soo close to having both of the subs installed in the giant 15cuft box this weekend and now I'm kicking myself for pushing that single 18 too hard and I'm back to only (1) sub again.

I guess it was kinda good in a way though that it blew now and not later because it would have suked to take that 15cuft box/wall out when installed and braced into the blazer. Hopefully the guy that I originally bought the subs from a few months ago comes through with the recones soon, I have a feeling next weekend this project will be 100% complete.

i'm gonna guess that it's the tinsels that broke...

it's happened twice to me and i know of others who've had the same problem... the coils can take the abuse, but the tinsels burn up and snap...

just a recommendation, i would not brace that box with any mdf supports. if possible use threaded rod with another layer of mdf.

i dunno. big box = big flex.

otherwise, nuts.

The recone's are just now coming...

I've still been using just (1) 18 RE MT in 7cuft w/ 100sq.in. of port and I've got to say its hella loud!

I can't wait either to get this 2nd MT reconed and get the wall finished, I'll recone it this weekend.
