*PICS* 15 cuft @ 28.5hz for (2) RE MT 18's

07/05/07 update:

Still havn't recieved a dust cap or glue for the reconing of the blown RE MT so the wall is not in right now. BUT the other working RE MT is still installed in the 7cuft box and WOW it gets better every day!

Im totally impressed with the RE MT sound quality and ability to hit the really low notes with such strength. I was drving around the other night testing out 20 new chopped & screwd up songs that I just downloaded and couldnt beleve the output that I was getting. I was told these MT's that I bought were freshly reconed and only had a few burbs on them. I guess this MT is breaking in because day by day its getting much better.

I pulled up to the gas station thats closed at night time and did a few tests. Leather so Soft by Lil Wayne chopped up actually made a pump fall from its holder.

I'll get vids this weekend.

I have the sub and port facing forward. To the ear it sounds the best this way after testing all other methods of box placement. If I face it to the rear hatch the rear window will pop out too much and cause an anoying noise. Less window flex noise = better bass experiance //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif If I face tghe bos to the rear and stick my head up by the dash on the front windshield its hella loud. But for daily driving sub & port facing forward FTW.

Yep, I have the cutsheet for the 7cuft @ 32hz with 100sq.in. of port at home, it's in my garage. Here's the link to the build of it. double baffle w/ dowels top to bottom, rounded port with cut 45 in back of port...

i thought you ran btls?
I sold the BTL and purchased these MT's hella cheap about a month ago. The BTL was a hellova sub and got crazy loud too.

How does it sound facing up?

I've tried facing to the front in my SUV and there was too much cancellation...it was noticeably quieter and my meter confirmed it...

When I tried sub and port up it didnt work out too well because it was 3-5" from the roof. Facing sub and port forward in a 2dr blazer is teh best bet for sq IMO. It's ok if I lose a little bit of output on the meter, its worth it to not have rear window hatch flex noise..... I mean come on its a 18" sub getting hella power in a big *** box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif For daily driving this is what works out the best for me.

About how far are you away from being completely finished?
The 15 cuft enclosure is complete for the 18's, it fits in the blazer and the frame to wall it off is pretty much done. The only thing that is left is to get a dust cap and some glue so I can complete the recone of the other RE MT 18. Im meeting with a local subguru that has some dustcaps laying around and glue. Once I get that it will be finished.

Nice, I very curious to try a BTL in my box now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I wasn't as impressed with the MT's lowend but that may be because I'm used to very lowend intensive subs...

Don't get me wrong, I agree the MT's lowend is awesome...
