I picked up two of these G5 Grenade amps a few years ago non-working, along with an SE6100 that mostly works but needs some repairs as well.
I'm thinking about fixing them up for my daily driver, so I'd need to run one of the G5's bridged at 4ohms for the subs (two Stereo Integrity BM shallow mount 12's), and the second one as a 2ch amp for 8 ohm Peerless SLS8 midbasses in the doors. The SE6100 is a great 6 channel amp that I ran for a few years. I would use it to power a DLS Iridium component set, bridging 4 channels to the midranges and running the remaining 2 channels to the tweets.
Can anyone comment on what kind of power the Grenades might put out at:
(a) 4ohms bridged mono
(b) 8ohms 2 channel stereo
I'm trying to figure out:
(a) are they going to give me enough power at the configurations above
(b) are they even worth fixing at this point for a daily driver or should I just get some new more reliable amps. One of the amps has a green light on when powered up, the other amp has the red light on when powered up, whatever that means.
Thanks. Zac.
