PayPal help (refunds)

The $325 was overdrafted because paypal hadn't deposited his $400 fast enough.
thats where paypal pretty much broke the law. if the 400 wasn't taken out before it was refunded then they couldn't legally go back 2-3 days AFTER is was refunded and take it. They took money that wasn't owed to them. thats called stealing if an individual were to do it. i'm pretty sure if he were to take a screen print to his bank and explain what happened they would waive the fees. and they could get paypal in trouble as well if they wanted to push the issue.

Not sure where you are coming from..

When he pressed "send payment" that money was gone from his checking acct. When refunded it went to his PP balance. He then would have to request a transfer and wait 3-5 days before that money returned to his checking acct.

I see now that Payments and Refunds are seperate transactions. When I pressed "Pay Now" an order was sent to PayPal telling them to withdraw the money. When I was sent the Refund an order was sent instructing PayPal to add the money to my account. These are in reality in no way connected even though they might've seemed that way to me.

I will call the bank tomorrow, I have a good friend who is a VP of a branch up in north Texas so maybe I can get help getting those overdrafts waived.

You seem to be under the impression that paypal takes your money from your bank account and gives it directly to the seller. In reality, this is three transactions. transactions. They transfer the money from your bank account to your paypal account. THEN, they transfer the money from your paypal to the seller's paypal account. THEN the seller must transfer that money to his bank account before he can use it outside paypal. When Paypal issues you a refund, they simply refund your money to your paypal account. It is YOUR responsibility to then transfer that money back into your bank account. If you don't understand how the service works, you shouldn't be using it.

they didn't break any laws you nitwit. This is why the mortgage industry went under because of ignorant people. he sent payment for $400. That $400 was instantly taken from his account. he got the money refunded back into his paypal account. He then would have to withdraw the money and transfer it to his bank account which is a 3-5 business day transaction. Well he decided to send another $325 before his original $400 made it back to the checking account, therefore overdrawn.

Saturday is not a business day. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Therefore your money is instantly removed the first business day. The $389 would be sent back to your paypal account and is your responsibility to transfer it back to your bank.

you're the fucking moron that apparently can't understand that both payments were made through PP. why the fuck would he need to transfer it back to his checking account? you're either a nigger or one of the dumbest white people on the whole internet. at least learn how to read if you're going to try to argue.
