pair of amp choices

All,

I would like you opion on this. Currently my system is running off a JL 500/5.

I collected quite a few amps over the year just picking up a nice deal here and there and looking to run a pair of amps for more system power.

In addition to the JL 500/5, I have:

JL 450/4

JL 500/1

JL 1000/1

SS VGA 500.4

SS VGA 800.2

Old school Hifonics Andromeda 125XII by Zed

For running the pair the obvious choice for aesthetic reasons are running the 450/4 and 1000/1 or the set of VGAs. The choice I make will mean the other set gets sold. Obviously I ill get more money back from the JL sale if I went with the VGAs.

Which would you run and why? Power wise they are very similar. The speakers I have are a DIY set of Peerless Exclusives 7" and the Peerless HDS tweeter. I plan on going with the Peerless XXLS sub soon.

Your opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Are you going to run the mids and tweets active or passive?

Will be running them active. The benefits of the JL is 12 or 24 oct crossovers. Thought I will probably use a PPI DCX-730 processor anyway so the point will be moot.

Basically interested in hearing the opinions of anyone that has experience wih the Van Gogh and the Slash series.

Areas of interest for me are: SQ difference if any, heat buildup, reliability, and amp draw (I assume the JL set will draw less as it is a class D on the 1000/1). I believe my car only provides 120 amp max alternator.
