Painting and Tinting my car

whgat kind of tint? like 5 year, 10 year? lifttime? cuz after a while it gets purple and bubbles up

Not all tints do..

I have had my tint for a while its 5% and you can't even see through anything.

The back windows had little mirror tint, so the 5% behind it makes it impossible to see through the back to my system.

My tint cost me 180 bucks and it was way worth it, no bubbles, no anything its perfect, I suggest going to the pros

See, the thing is, tinting 7 windows is hella expensive. I don't know how long I am going to keep this car, so even if I can do it myself and it lasts 2 or so years, till the end of high school, I'll be more than happy. I don't want to pay $250+ for tinting for a car that is worth about $2500 and I might get rid of soon.

But you should research it more, because it is worth it

Go to all of the window tinting stores in your area, or find someone with a nice tint that had it done and get their info. People ask me daily where I got mine from and I get compliments so just check into it more

Llumar film is great stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I dont suggest tinting your own car without serious experience. Just leave it to the professionals //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif unless you want to invest in a box of razor blades to get the bubbling film off your windows

it's the METALLIC that has lifetime warranty

DYED only has a couple years, and it's cheaper and turns purple, but some bastards try to pass it off as metallic. DON'T BE FOOLED. Solar guard might be the way to go since their warranty allows you to take your car to ANY tint shop using their stuff to fix any bubbles and what not. Btw. it's not as simple as 5, 10 and 20 percent. Every company is different, but they're all roughly the same. For example, I have "dark" all the way around, and it's 13%. My sister and mom have "medium" all the way around and it's 31%...

I got my tint done at a place here locally....they've been in business forever doing tint jobs for various car dealerships here and only started doing privately owned autos within the last 5 years. They use Llumar film exclusively. They put 5% on my back window, rear doors, and a windshield 'brow' then put 35% on my front doors.

Tint, labor, tax, & everything hit me for $140 out the door. This came with a written lifetime warranty. I don't know right offhand if that would be considered pricey for a compact car but they did an outstanding job and the lifetime warranty made it worth the expense for me.

I've seen friends that didn't have any business trying attempt to tint their windows. After seeing the tragic results of attempted tint installs by people that shouldn't have I'll stick with paying the people that do it for a living. A good tint job looks great...but apparently it isn't hard at all to screw it up.
