Painting and Tinting my car

This summer I want to do two things to the exterior appearance of my car. Paint my hood and roof because the paint there is faded, and tint my windows. I want to try and do both of these things myself before I take it anywhere and pay money that could otherwise be spent on the audio.

Does anyone know of some good sites/tutorials that shows you the best way to do either of these things?

trust me... you don't wanna learn how to tint windows. Tinting is an art and you'll mess up alot before you'll get it right
unless your like me and are good with your hands, altough i have some help from being a mechanic, but i had 2 failed attempts at driver rear window before i did all the rest no problem, no bubbles, clean cuts....just cant rush...at least you could do the side windows and pay to have the rear done, because the rear was by far the hardest...thank god for a friend that already knew how to heat shrink...but once you see it...if your mechanical at all...you should be able to do it...check out tintdude.com and use a hella lot of soapy water when appyling....CAN NOT USE TO MUCH SPRAY

Your car is 17years old... i hope you didn't buy the factory color, because there is no way in hell it is going to match.
x2...this will be nearly impossible without training in matching and blending colors...otherwise it will be just plain ugly

Tinting is an art like said before..

Took the guys at Pro Tint about an hour and half to do my rear windows..

Looks good in limo tho..

Granted, the paint is a little faded. I know a guy who can custom-mix paint for me, so the color will be pretty **** close to what it is now. Even if its a shade off, its better than having huge white faded paint marks all over the hood and roof. I'm just trying to make my car look decent, it doesn't have to be perfect.

by the way, I checked out a new local tinting shop today and they gave me price of $185 (with a $45 off grand opening sale) to tint all 7 windows in my station wagon. That's pretty cheap, so i'm concerned that they'll do a crappy job or use bad tint or something. I asked him how long it would take, and he said it would take 4 guys an hour and a half to do it.

Is it worth it? Or should I look elsewhere?
