I have a 1999 4runner. Let me start off that it has an 80a alternator and standard battery right now. XFL1522 powered by a skar sk-1500. B2 Audio es6.1 components and trying to be powered by a mtx rt4240. So, overall, I am guessing around 1700 watts. Now, I need some guidance on what to do for electrical. Some say get an agm, some say alternator, some say both. Now, I don't mind getting an agm but I think my alternator would have a hard time charging both of those at the same time (AGM would be a second battery). If I had to, I could get an AGM (2nd or primary) and sell my XFL and get maybe a SA-15 D4, wire it to 2 ohms, so my amp would power about 950 watts max. I don't mind that at all, but some say I don't have to do that. I already have a box for a 15, so that isn't a problem.
TL;DR - I need guidance on what to do with my electrical. I don't have the money for the new alternator, and I don't really feel like paying for a new battery but if I have to do it, there be it.
I am peaker at 14.4V but my voltage drop goes down to about 13 or sometimes even 12. It'll sometimes stay around 12.8. Then, i turn the gain knob down until the voltmeter go above 14 just for safety.
Thanks in advance! I appreciate all of the input.
