over rms

As stated, your amp will ONLY give you 760 watts of power. The only way to get more power out of your amplifier is to give it more voltage going into the amplifier. I'm not personally sure of how many volts the amp can take, but I'm Sure that it isnt much about 16v, or there abouts. At 16v going into the amplifier, you might get 900 watts out of it.

Running two subs that are 500w RMS/sub on the amplifier will not hurt that amplifier. the subs will have 380 watts of power to each sub, and that's that bro.

Anything else?

You simply can't "go over" maximum RMS voltage and expect to have undistorted output. Sure, you can drive it hard into clipping, but why? If the amp is underrated, that's another story...but if I have a 1kW-rated amp that actually benched @ 1.4kW, I can't simply say I'd like to run it at 1.6kW...doesn't work that way.

yes yes yes i understand thanks for the information

How about this
Explain to me, as simplistic as possible, how you intend to get more than 760 watts of power out of that amplifier. If I can understand your reasoning maybe I can explain.
ok i was just thinking i was outside setting my gains and i set it at about 28.1v and was thinking if i set my gain at 31.0v i would get 1000 watts do you understand if not let me know.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

plain and simple yes it will hurt your amp. you will clip the shiet out of the amp and then you have to go by yourself a new amp.

YOU CANNOT GET 1000 WATTS. YOUR AMP WILL ONLY DO 760 WATTS @ 2OHMS. THATS IT. NO MAS. NO MORE. FINETO.

How would you manage to get 31 volts to an amplifier, or even 28 volts? Explain that, then we'll work our ways up.
Increasing the gains on your amplifier doesnt mean you're adding power, by the way.
i hooked up my dmm and started setting the gains with a 50hz test tune and thats how i got the numbers is that what you were looking for.

ok ok ok calm down thank you for the info guess i better buy a new amp. Anyways

Yes, that's what I was wanting to know.

I dont have much experience with the DMM's, this is where someone with more knowledge needs to step in.

In the most intelligent manner I know how. Increasing your gains, either which way, will not give you more power to your subs. Increasing the gains will, in fact, more than likely harm the subs and put a strain on your amplifier. Set the gains to where they rightfully are, and run it. You wont notice that much of a difference in that power, I promise.

Take my word, set it right, dont try to overdo it, and keep what you have. It sucks blowing equipment.

What subs are we talking about, out of curiousity?

Even though they're 500w RMS, sending them 380 watts per sub will NOT hurt them and will still get them plenty loud.

Are you running the subs sealed or vented?

ok i will ill just get a second one and run a amp on each sub thanks alot for the help.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
