Had my systems hooked up for about 2 years already and I just recently noticed this problem. Everything was going fine until one day I noticed that my subs weren't sounding the same as usual. The output was maybe less than half what it should be. I took ouy my current set up and tried to see if it did the same with my old system, and the same thing happens.

I would be driving and all of a sudden the output would get louder then it dies down. It happens randomly. Is something loose? I have no idea..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Help me please! Thanks.

Oops. Sorry. It's just a basic setup with only one amp wired up. It's just weird because everything was fine until this summer.

skadude - Each setup had its own amp. So I switched amps.

Try wiggling your wires and RCAs and see if that causes any changes in output. Does this happen when the car is moving, or also when idling? Pop your trunk, if this is a trunk car, and listen to what your subs are doing. Did you change boxes when you switched between the two systems? Could be a leaky box. Also maybe your grounds have rusted. If so, sand that shit back to shiny metal.
