How could this work?

Friend of mine hooked up two Sony Xplodes 10" 4-Ohm 350w RMS subwoofers and some random unknown 12" unknown impedence and RMS subwoofers to a Orion Cobalt Series 150.2 amplifier and not only did it work but it worked fairly well too.

What gives? :S

Not that strange. I had two flame compression Audiobahn 12s on an SPL 520 2 channel and it was loud as hell. Sounded okay I guess for what it was. Blew within a month. Sometimes you get lucky but it probably won't last long.
