Outgrowing Your System?

I'm working on my 5 system in 2 years....

As I was installing my curret system, I was already making plan for the next one...

When, I redo a system, it not always, to get it louder or better SQL... Its because each time I think, the install can look a lot better, get more advanced and get more trick/creative.... I'm in to the custom show scene way more than the SPL scene.... So looks and wow factor are big...

When I enter a car show and look at all the other systems and then look at mine.... I still want to be inpressed with what I have done...

I WATNED TO HAVE 1 SUB AND GET THE MOST SQL THAT I COULD GET in this car and be able to transfer it to new a new car in a few years....

didn't wanna to spend a lot of money on high end comps b/c prefer to just buy them when i get a new car... Also, this gives me a chance to search the market more.

but i'm sure glad i'm finished w/the mono amp and subwoofer category....

pretty much done w/the deck area too (alpine)...

Outgrowing = hearing damage...keep that in mind. Hearing damage is something you dont want, and when you notice it, its too late and irreversible.
I went to my first rock concert in 25 years recently. It was so loud I had to put my fingers in my ears. Ever since then (last September) I have a continuous ringing in my ears (Tinitus) that will never go away. There is no treatment for it. It sucks.

Sometimes the noise is so bad it keeps me awake at night. It really sucks.

I'm still addicted to upgrading my car audio system constantly, but I can no longer hear the subtle differences in tweeters. Did I mention it sucks?

Keep on enjoying your music my friends, but please respect your ears.

Wow, that does ****..

i'm re-doing my system, so i took my sub out and only have my HEX's and D7 hooked up, and to tell you the truth, i dont really miss the sub.

now, i love bass, but a lot of the time, i have my sub on pretty low so it just compliments my music.

in the future, i can see myself just ditching subs and going with a nice front stage setup.

In ALL REALITY thats all a sub is supposed to do. Most of us like a little bit or a ton more bass in our music however. The job of a subwoofer is intended to pick up in the frequency range where a mid range or mid bass woofer leaves off and be at the exact same level dB wise as the other drivers(mids, tweets, etc.) in the system. So for every day listening at moderate levels you may NOT miss it but if you ever get to where you wanna really "feel" the music the bottom isn't going to be there unfortuantely. Just my input. Happy listening.

I started effing with car stereo when i was like 14.. the big stuff back then was ads, linear power, orion etc..... Im 25 now, have 2 kids and am married, and still love the sound/feel of a good bass wave traveling through the body.. I'm just now getting back into car audio seeiung as how i now have a real job again and am making some flizz, so out growing?? no, probably never....... being broke and cant afford it cause of 2 kids and a wife?? yes, but that will only last so long.......

Man and this whole time I just though I was going mad... Nah, I always knew something was messed up with my ears. I've had this since I was really young though before I was exposed to loud music, concerts, etc. I'm kind of used to it and I can only hear it if the room is dead silent. As long as there is a little background noise it's not so bad. Plus I'm a deep sleeper so it's never been a problem. Still, hearing is a blessing so we should all take care of our eardrums as mentioned before.
