Orion 2500d problem

Well the problem is i have to turn the gain on the amp 3/4 up before i even get any output from it. I just dont think i should have to turn the gain up on a 2500 watt amp to power a single 15" xxx.....so just wondering if it is hurting the amp to run the gain almost all the way up like this? Did you use 2 grounds and 2 +'s ? My friend had only one of each and thats what happened. How many amps is your alt? I have an orion 2500d to my 15xxx and i have it like at 1/4 and i cant turn it up no more, in a 02 blazer stock alt. I usually dont go lower than 13v.

See thats what i dont get.....you cant even turn urs up past 1/4 and i have to turn mine almost all the way up to get output. But im not sure how many amps my alternator cause i lost my book....lol but its on a 2001 yukon. I get mine to go about 11-12 volts also......so im guessing its my alternator i just wanna get some input before i go out and buy a new Alt.

wow, i never been down to 11 volts.. today i hit 12v but thats cuz i had it at 30/40 and i was acting crazy and just blasting it.

Mine is on ALL stock, not even big3 done and its good.

idk if ur head unit has amp control or not but u could check that.

Its not ur alt if ur getting output from it lights would usually be a problem not gain, IMO..

But make sure u hae it wired correctly it might be out of phase, u know +to- vice versa.

last thing i can think of is, u have ur sub wired wrong. The xxx has alot of dam wiri9ng check Re's website and make sure its connected so u have 2 or 1 ohm, or just get the dmm out and test it to the sub.
