I am currently saving up for a couple sets of mids and highs (a set for the front, a pair for the back and an amp to run them) This is the set that I want for the front, and that I am getting for sure:

Focal Access 165 A3 6.5-Inch 3-Way Component Speaker Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001Q9EKV4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_kymRyb2NJY4G8

This is the pair that I am looking at for the back:

Kicker 40CS654 6.5 inch 2-Way Speakers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B9H8L4K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_KzmRybJVGCP98

And this is the amp that I am looking at to run it all:

Rockford Fosgate T400X4ad Power Series 400 Watt 4-Channel Amplifier https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LMNLGDY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_qAmRyb81609J6

I would really appreciate input on weather or not that amp will be good for the load, and on whether or not that pair will work well with the set that is going in the front. I want high performing audiophile level mids and highs, and am not limiting myself on price much at all. More money just equals more saving. Thanks in advance for the help! If I put this post in the wrong thread, please let me know so that I can move it.

The amp and speaker combo is fine together as the match doesn't need to be nearly as precise as is commonly advised. I'm a supporting vendor of this site and I would like to advise you of a different setup, if you don't mind. One advantage of supporting my company, Rubyserv, is everything has the factory warranty and you will have several ways to contact me personally on or off the forum.

What's your suggestion?

What are you prepared to do to install the extra pair of speakers(the midrange woofers)?
Are you willing to customize the door panels and/or build speaker pods?
I was going to get it installed. It'll cost $165 to install that set of component speakers plus coaxial speakers in the rear and the amp. I don't wanna mess with the door panel and dash customizations myself because I want it to look impeccable, but I am more than willing to pay to have them installed.

I would be willing to also install components in the back, but I feel like read components would be overkill.

I don't know what exactly you were quoted on but $165 to do a custom installation of 3-way components in a car with nowhere to place the 3" mids, plus an amp and rear speakers sounds like a steal of a deal. Somebody is losing out as either the installer is giving away his/her time or you are definitely not going to get anything resembling an impeccable speaker installation. If you're talking about an InstallerNet installation purchase, which I suspect you are due to the Amazon.com links, the same logic applies. That is not a realistic labor charge to do this installation properly at a reputable shop.

I was quoted at best buy by the installation guy. Does best buy do a good job? He did tell me that he was charging me less than he could charge me. Not sure why he decided to *hook me up as I assume best buy does do a good job with installations.

Best Buy has some great installers but it's not the same from store to store. Think about this a bit more. You have presented this person with a situation that requires multiple hours of labor, including custom labor. Did the quote include custom labor spelled out in some way? Best Buy does not sell Focal, so did you get any information about the warranty or guarantee on work to install product you did not buy from the store?

Good point. Next time I go in I'm going to ask some more questions about their install. I appreciate the help!

What's a pocketdrip?!
HAH! NO SOMEONE ASKED ?? It's a typo that I can't fix and am VERY embarrassed about lol

When I was in middle school, it was a thing to tell people that they dropped their pocket to get them to look down before they realized that's ridiculous. So, I coined "pocketdrop" deciding that it either sounded like a dance move or username lol

Used to do that all the time at the mall. People are always walking through with something on their mind or on a mission, so they only hear the "dropped" part and start looking frantically until they realize it's stupid. Haha classic
