okay il lay it out simple, i dont know alot nor much about car audio and subwoofers/amplifiers. i have a 97 Toyota Camry and im looking to put in some powerful subs. i currently have 2 10'' ma audios with a 250watt memphis amplifier. i would like to get 2 12'' with 1000watt amp. i was hoping to put them in the spare tire spot, good or bad idea?

also ive hear alot about different subs i was looking into the(all 12'')

-boston g5

-alpine type r

-kicker (not sure which ones exaclty)

-mojo

in the sub itself im looking for something with more of a deeper hit(sorry for the lack of correct terms)

im also looking for a 1000watt amp

nothing special just to power the 2 12'' subs or if i need a bigger amp let me know

any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

-Eric G.

Price range? I say 2 12" RE SE's and a Nine.1... I love my new set up, it sounds amazing and still gets pretty loud. I used to have CVX's off of a 1500.1 and they sounded like *** compared to the SE's.

okay sweet, so i know its a proablaby a repeated question but back to my original question, which of the subs would you recommend, i realize no 1 is the best or loudest etc, but what would anyone suggest personally or if theres key things to know about the subs in my choice to buying them.

$1000 could buy a pair of FANTASTIC subs. Hell, you could get an entire system (HU, amps, subs, comps, deadening, wiring) for that and still have some great stuff. You just have to know where to look and be willing to buy some used stuff.

If you're interested, I have 3 10" subs for sale that would do well on about 300w apiece (get an amp that does 1000w at 2 ohms, and you'll be happy). Shoot me a PM if you're interested and I'll give you some more info

haha i might have to come up to seattle and check it out

i was also lookin at kicker solx and baric L7 im assuming that im be well off with just 10'' and not needing 12''

thoughts?

im still hoping to get 2 of them tho and be able to mount them in my spare tire spot

You should. There are plenty of people up here who could give you a listen to a variety of setups. nothing better than first hand experience.

also another problem that i think im running into is that there arent alot of audio store in eugene that are willing to really help me out with what i want to do, seems like they only want to help me do what they want to do, kinda annoying

but anyways, hard question to answer but anyone have suggestions on places to go in the western states that would be of great help (portland salem washington area)

Pm me if you need some help. A couple nearby stores are selling RE, ID, even a couple Fi subs. Outside of seattle I don't know of many good stores but I'm sure a few exist. There are plenty of people who will demo if you're trying to decide on subs.

so im doin more research (kickers are freakin expensive!)

but im startin to lean more torwards kickers

been lookin at the solo x 12'' or 2 of the solo baric L7 12''

so i think ive decided on 2 kicker solo baric L7 12''

before i go into purchasing these does anyone have suggestions or things i should look at before purchasing them, ive done some research and have found that there great subs unless someone has a different point of view id like to hear it before i get em.
