Opinions on UTI?...

What an Ironic thread for me. I have enrolled in the Glendale Heights Illinois auto/diesel program and i am scheduled to start Nov. 20th and i still dont know if i want to go for sure yet. It is so hard to tell if its worth the 28,000$ for the education to get an ASE Lic. that you can get at other schools for about 5,000$. so i guess this is just a .bump.
You dont get an ASE license for going to UTI you get your associates degree when you graduate. ASE's certs. are totally seperate from the school.

As for the Body work portion? the only campus that has that program is the Houston campus //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

No, you get a diploma from UTI, no degree. And i know you dont directly get the ASE Certs from UTI but that is what you go there for, to get ASE certified after 1 year of work in the industry.
Yeah a diploma that states that you have an associates degree in the Automotive field! And in order to get ur ASE's you sign up for testing, there are more than 1 ASE cert. If you pass the test you get ur ASE, if you fail you dont! simple as that!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

SanmarcosZfreak is enrolled in the Orlando campus, talk to him or I bet He'll catch this thread...
someone mention my name, its a good school great atmosphere, etc, the Hot rod U class if offered at most campus, my campus (orlando) lacks the body/collision classes

every campus has different advantages, if ur looking to get into an MSAT figure out with campus has the MSAT program u want (not all campus offer all the MSATs, actually AZ is the only one that does)

but yeah im liking it so far

as far as ASE u can get them whenever u feel like it

Body work is in Houson, TX... no where else.

So far ive learned a lot from the school, ive like the majority of the teaching staff that ive ran into thus far with the exception of a few who seem to be on power trips. Only down side ive noticed is that a lot of time gets wasted, they gave us a project car that we had 9 weeks to finish. We finished it in about 7 so we spent the last two weeks ditching and drinking at a friends house. You will find your self sittin in class often with nothing to do because you are down with the curiculum for the day.

Cost was $23,000 for me and i think it got bumped up a little because they just added a custom body class. And by the time i get out of here i think it will have been a good investment, because it does open a lot of jobs for a person once done, Painting, Body work, Pulling, Measuring, Estimating, Drivetrain/HVAC work, Steering/suspention/allignments, welding (alum/steel).

Any questions let me know

No, a diploma that states you have completed the auto/diesel program, it is in now way an associates degree, I dont think my UTI rep would lie to me. He was just at my house about a week ago and his exact words were "This is not a degree of any kind, only a diploma" Simple as that!

I had the interview and was accepted and I am scheduled to start august 7th of this year. Another question I have is I am not sure if I want to do the Ford FACT program along with the automotive technology, or the Nascar engine and fabrication course with the automotive tech? ANy opinions on which is better? And I am starting to lean away from the manufacturers programs, I think if I am going to get a job at a dealership I would like to work for Dodge and the SRT's rather than the other dealers...any opnions?

Im still in highschool but when i graduate id like to attend the NTI part of the college and maybe have a shot at a future job with nascar. Anyone heard about the nascar part and know anything about it and what you can learn there? And what the chances are of working in nascar?

i was told that most of the jobs for nascar are on the pit crew changing tires or something similar...but i cant be sure of that..

chris96camaro: dont be too worried about the ford fact program yet, you dont have to lock in a deal this early, wait til you get further into your courses and see how you feel. i mean the rest of the msat's wont even talk to you until you're on your 3 or 4th to last course.

i signed up for the houston program when i was 18, gave them the 100 bucks to reserve the spot and all. found out afterwards they require drug testing. im a pothead for life, so **** that.
