Opinions on U.S. Amps

I'm thinking about picking up two U.S. Amps XT800.2's. One for my front stage (100 wrms @ 4ohm) and one for my sub stage (400 wrms @ 4ohm bridged).

I'm considering these because of their small footprints (9 x 10) and price ($130 at millionbuy.com).

What are your opinions on this company/model? I know the older US Amps are highly regarded, but how do the newer ones rate? Do they do rated power? Are they good quality? Anything better with similar specs/price?

Thanks for the anticipated help.

whichever brands that lie about their amps' power output //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'd go with a Hifonics before i go with an XT

I sell the full us amps line up at my shop. The xt line is the budget line(They do have good output for the $$$$) The MD line aka merlin's Very very good amps (.5ohm stable on mono's) Then there is the AX line crazy crazy amps, big $$$$$ also //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. Alot of people do not like the XT line due to china build house:( But the MD and AX are still built in the usa!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif The XT's will hold there own against any other budget line amp!

Would you consider Profile better or worse?

not if they won't even make the power they're rated for.

Giving subs more power really wakes them up. The MRP-500 is pretty low power. You would really notice more authority in your bass.

I’m sure they will be a good budget setup. I think they will lack some midbass but door treatment is super important so definitely be sure to do...
