Opinions on this sub?

this is a company that specializes in Audio eq for BMW vehicles. The problem is (at least for my model) I can't remove the factory head unit as it also is integrated with my on board computer. I've been trying to find different options for adding a sub+getting more power to my speakers.

Any comments on the sub/box? Ideally, I would have a single 12" sub and amp combo and aftermarket double din radio, but my options are limited. I could also benefit greatly from any recommendation for achieving better sound without replacing my factory HU. Thanks a lot for any input.

you can easily add a sub...all someone would have to do is tap off your rear speaker leads to a LOC converter ...it will give you RCA....outputs for your amp....go with a quality piece...What vehicle do you have?

I have an '01 BMW X5. I went my local car audio shop and asked about this, he strongly recommended against running the sub off the speaker wires, he said it would sound terrible, and was pushing for me to buy a head unit. Maybe it won't sound so bad? that's why I'm considering this sub, as opposed to using an expensive 12" sub and amp setup only to run off my speaker wire. that's a bad idea right?

Thats what i did was tap into my rear speakers and they sound pretty good. I can't tell a difference between rca outputs from an aftermarket cd player or from mine so i think you'll be good.

cool, so is there an aftermarket amp or are you using the stock amp wires as well?

also what size sub are you using?
