opinions on TCAB

i was thinking more along the lines of the website that has free ported subwoofer diagrams. you enter woofer amount, size, tuning freq etc.. and it gives you a colored diagram of that the box looks like. each color is a certain length. thx for the PSP link also. but as i asked earlier.. is all i do is build a standard ported box, and cutout the holes for the aeros?

if you want aeros, the it'll be just like a sealed box aeros. all you need to do is account for the displacement of the aeros and the sub. you can buy 4" abs pipes from home depot also and then round the ends.

unless you're wanting a slot port design. that'll take more time.

here's a little example:

Talk to bjfish11 on here or go to his site, fishercustoms.com

He hooked me up, does an amazing job on the boxes and the prices are on his site...I got mine shipped to South FL where I live, and don't think I could have had one made local for cheaper...check BJ out.

I was not personally involved with TCAB, but many people on here were and a large majority of them had serious problems with the entire transaction. TCAB no longer comes on here, he has shifted to ecoustics and is brainwashing the people there now that he is a reputable business and makes world beating enclosures. Honeslty, build, learn from it, scrap it, build again, learn from it scrap it, build with lessons you learned from the mistakes from the first few times and make a 3rd box and still spend less money than TCAB or TTB.

The boxes he makes are no thing special. He just knows how to caculate all the integers of the box right, thus making it sound better than a ported box the average joe would produce. He claims to have this mad acoustical knowledge, yet when I talk to him on AIM he always says that a Bass Reflex box is the way to go no matter what kind of sub it is. He says that Horns, Transmissionline, and other variations which are SUPERIOR to a bass reflex design are garbage.

He told me I'd have a better transient response if I went with a Bass Reflex in my caprice instead of a 4th Order designed box with a horn as the wave guide. That makes no sense to me...

The enclosure knowledge he has could definetly be improved upon. I am a car audio master, and acoustical novice. That is my observation and opinion of this guy.
