I'm currently trying to add a sub to my factory Bose system in my truck. I don't want to cut any wires at all and was wondering how reliable t taps are. I'm used to cutting, stripping, and soldering my connections but I'm looking for an easy alternative.

They work, BUT I have had issues t tapping alarms after a uear or so, I personalle would sodder and tape then never have to worry about it again

the "t" stands for temporary, try a "military" (atleast that is the term i was taught) connection if you're looking for something easier but reliable. it's similar to what you do minus the cut part, you just strip away the jacket of the wire and wrap the tapping wire around it and put a little soldier and wrap with electrical tape.
